Inside the Lanes

Compact space, controlled chaos. The indoor championships put everyone within arm’s reach and that proximity is gold for storytelling. I shot training, physio sessions, and pre-meet walk-throughs in the Athlone arena before we travelled.

Race day is a loop — warm-up hall, call room, tunnel, back again. I carried a small two-body kit to stay agile and recorded ambient audio to layer into the final video piece.

Highlights included Sarah Lavin’s semi-final, the men’s 4x400 relay, and the post-race reaction when the team locked in qualification points for Paris. The project combined stills, 9:16 race cuts for social, and a 2-minute recap delivered to Athletics Ireland the following morning.
